Vinyl

My prime source is still Vinyl. Reasons are the repertoire I already have in Vinyl and this funny opinion vinyl sounds better than digital.

The Garrard 301 with my 12 inch tonearm is my most frequently used deck. The link leads to the story of the restoration.

The Roksan Xerxes was used almost 15 years before that. First with a Rega RB 300, later with the Roksan Tabriz arm. The mandatory 80ies black Ash design was modified some years ago to the cherry red mahagony look.

At the moment there is another vintage deck to be completed. The Orpheus Silex. An Australian broadcast deck combining belt and idler wheel drive.

And then there is the beautiful Technics SP 10. Another studio standard deck. Direct driven, external power supply, top quality.

Lately I rediscovered the Lenco L75, which was actually my first record deck as a teenager.

Here is a report about the rewiring and restoring a Fidelity Research FR64s tonearm.
