Although I still prefer Vinyl I also want to hear CD or other digital content. These days hearing CD is also a plaeasure.
Technics SP4 is a budget player. This machine was modified by Clockwork Audio in Cologne with amazing results.
I have bulit a ADC/DAC published in the German computer magazine c't. This design uses Crystal chips.
As a transport the Grundig CD 100 plays the discs. To my knowledge the only portable player with S/PDIF interface.
Another important digital device is the Behringer DCX 2496. A loudspeaker mangement system, which means it combines a frequency network, an equalizer, time alignement function and even more in one machine. There are a lot of tweaks for these machine.
